Hello and thanks for stopping in!
I am currently a student at Grantham University enrolled in the Information Technology Masters Degree program. Challenging coursework, I must admit, and it does take up quite a large amount of my time - but hey - the juice is worth the squeeze! At this moment in time [13NOV06], I am taking course BA545, Emerging Technologies, and this little blurb is part of exercise 6, sub-topic "Professional Development". Here's a plug for the school, too: if you're motivated enough and can handle the coursework, Grantham offers *great* programs for working stiffs, like myself, who have a full time career in IT but want to advance themselves and the clincher of the deal is that the programs actually match what I do normally, so it's really not that difficult. Check out Grantham University.
If you're really a brave soul, www.myspace.com/the_splatman has more about me. I've got other web pages up but one step at a time is enough for now.....
Although I have many interests and projects, this "little" project is my attempt to fill some major (and minor) gaps I have within the branches of my family tree. Through the wonders of modern technology I hope to find the information I need.
You'll find some links to other interests I have, but this page is mainly dedicated to the genealogical research of my Horner ancestors. I have a decent amount of data on other family lines impacting the Horner clan, yet can't seem to find those elusive tidbits of information which will clear up my questions and get me back on the right track. Perhaps you have that bit and I would love to hear from you if you do. I can accept gedcom files from any platform [Mac is okay] and use Family Tree Maker Version 16. Ged2html is used to do the rest of the "dirty work" for this venture. You can link to the web site of the program's author from the names and index pages of the family members if you're interested in obtaining your own copy of the program. Sorry, but the surname web pages haven't been updated in some time [okay, years is more like it] and I have much to update but I have troubles FTP'ing the hundreds of pages to the site so as soon as I can get that bug worked out, the updates will be posted. Rest assured, the info you find on my family data pages is accurate and verifiable through documents and public records. Trust me - I have the papers in the filing cabinet to show my work.
So go ahead and peruse the family names and hopefully I might have something you can use in your research. Of course, I am always working on and updating my files, so check back again soon. Feel free to contact me if you wish.
