Info, Links and Hopefully Some Help From You!
![]()
No bannners or screen trash here - just good links to help you in your family research. Some of these you may find on other pages, but these are some I find most helpful and visit regularly. Also some pieces of data on the specific individuals I am hoping to find "vital" information for to help fill in the blanks. If you can help to bridge the gap, please e-mail me with your information.
John Horner, born circa 1821 possibly in Montgomery County, OH. John married Nancy Irvin (could be Irwin - born around 1832) in Linden, Montgomery County, IN. on 14APR1850. The known child is William John Horner, born 26JAN1855, and possible siblings Abraham and Mary born on unknown dates. It is said there were other children, but no solid facts. Nancy and the children migrated to Gage County, NE, presumably without John, in the 1880's. William stayed in Gage County, NE. No other information is known about the rest of the children. Nancy remarried on 23MAR1887 to Clarence Earl Simmons - this was his 2nd marriage as well.
Belle Altha Morris, born 1890 (?), died in August 1926, daughter of Charles L. Morris and Alice Kinzie. Married Ray Walter Horner (son of William Horner, above) in 1907 in Beatrice, Gage County, NE. Belle had a sister, Alice, but I have no other information about her or their mother. Belle and Ray had 7 children. Belle and her 8th child both died during the birth and are buried together in Beatrice, NE. Ray married again in 1927 to Gladys Lucinda McNabb.
Gerald Leval Whited, no data available, married Marie Elnora Cross on 8DEC1930. Their only daughter, Loretta Marlene Whited (my mother) was born 23JAN1932. Gerald disappeared shortly thereafter and Marie remarried a gent named Walter Barry Dale, no data available. They had a son, Barry Kent Dale, born October, 1939 and died in March 1956 of cancer. Marie remarried again to Paul Ellsworth Hickok, originally from the New York area. Paul is rumored to be a grandson of "Little Orphan Annie". He spoke of her often, but I have no data to confirm his claims.
